Howard Leib (picture) is an attorney in his own practice in New York City. Leib has worked with artists such as Whitney Houston, B.B. King, Kiss, Bobby McFerrin, BeBe and CeCe Winans and Judy Collins. Companies he has represented include Rhino Records, SESAC, MCA, BMG and Twentieth Century Fox.
Ten years ago, Leib made a decision focus on the children's entertainment industry. Since that time, he has represented a diverse group of individuals and companies, including Golden Books, Raffi, The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Stage Show, Lightyear Entertainment (producers of the award winning "Stories to Remember" series), Kid Rhino, "Bob" McGrath of Sesame Street, Rory (from the Learning Channel's "Ready, Set, Learn"), Los Kitos, and former BMG recording artist Karan and the Musical Medicine Show, among others. As part of his on-going involvement in the children's entertainment market, Leib founded the Kids' Entertainment Seminars in 1993 and BrainCamp in 1996 and continues to organize and guide the program. Leib is also the founder and current president of the Children's Entertainment Association, the leading and internationally recognized trade association for the children's entertainment industry.
Professionally, Leib continues to represent clients both as an attorney and as a consultant in the children's entertainment business. He has been a member of the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association Entertainment and Sports Law Section, where he served as the chair of the section's Music Committee and editor of the section newsletter. He has done a column, Legal Notes for the Children's Music Network's newsletter Pass It On and another, The Court Jester for the Comics Bible. He has been a contributor to and a member of the Board of Contributing Editors of Entertainment Law and Finance. With his daughter, Leib has done a weekly children's radio comedy show entitled Laughtrack Jr., heard on WNYE-FM, 91.5, New York.
